RECENT PROJECT :: ELEGANT BABY SHOWER INVITATION

I recently did a full-calligraphy shower invitation for some ladies who were hosting a baby shower for a beautiful mother-to-be expecting an adorable little girl this fall.  They were looking for an classic invitation where the calligraphy was the main design element.  We decided light pink and gold would create an elegant feel while still feeling dainty and reflecting the occasion.  Here's what we came up with!

The LOPES 2

As wedding season continues to tumble through the lazy days of summer, I get more and more requests for envelopes.  I think the fall wedding season will be in full force!  I've been so happy to have the opportunity to work on a few new styles in a couple new colors.  As much as I love a classic (and always gorgeous) traditional black on ecru envelope, it's always exciting to dip my quill into some gold or deep green ink!

Enjoy!

The LOPES

Over the last month my life has been generally consumed by what my husband and I fondly refer to as "the lopes."  ENVELOPES.  Obscene amounts of envelopes.  1,286 envelopes to be exact.  Yes.  You did read that correctly.  Seven different styles in five different colors, sometimes starting at 5am and ending at midnight.  I wish I could say that I enjoyed every minute it of it, but I won't lie, there were definitely WHAT WAS I THINKING?!?! moments.  But, as I sent the last shipment out, I felt good, accomplished, and better educated about what I can and can't handle (physically and mentally!) in terms of my work load.  A few tears and thumb cramps and countless hand rubs later, I am happy to say I have seven happy brides, and one happy (but tired) calligrapher!

I promise to do more specialized posts on everything, but for now, here's a sneak peak at THE LOPES!

WILL YOU BE MY BRIDESMAID?

Recently I was asked to help two wonderful brides put a fun new twist on the classic question of "Will you be my Bridesmaid?"  Both of these girls wanted me to create something both beautiful and fun to send to the girls who would (hopefully!) stand with them on their wedding day.  I was obviously so excited to be a part of such a special tradition.  I was also really excited to be able to take a stab at something I hadn't done before.  Here is what we came up with!

Engagement Party Invitation

I have to admit I have been slacking on my blogging quite a bit lately...fortunately, that's because I've been super busy!  I'm excited to update y'all on all of the projects I've been working on over the last month - first things first, an engagement party invitation.  It's always especially fun to have the opportunity to create something for your friends, and this is no exception!  Cameron and Mikey are great friends of ours who are getting married in April.  I was so happy to make this invitation for their engagement party - I hope they (and you) like it!
