NASHVILLE WEDDING PLANNERS GROUP

I recently had the opportunity to show my work to the fabulous members of the Nashville Wedding Planners Group.  The June meeting featured myself along with a handful of other local wedding vendors.

Prior to the meeting they asked me to letter an invitation to be sent out to all of the planners.  For the invitation itself I wanted something fun and unique, so I went with the Harper style of lettering.  For the envelopes I chose a bright green ink and mixed the Harper and Ford styles.

The meeting itself was a wonderful opportunity to show off some of my latest work to this group of fabulous planners who are making waves through the Nashville wedding scene.  I am lucky to have some gorgeous images of the evening courtesy of the talented Kristyn Hogan.

Thanks to the NWPG for asking me to get involved!

RECENT PROJECT :: ELEGANT BABY SHOWER INVITATION

I recently did a full-calligraphy shower invitation for some ladies who were hosting a baby shower for a beautiful mother-to-be expecting an adorable little girl this fall.  They were looking for an classic invitation where the calligraphy was the main design element.  We decided light pink and gold would create an elegant feel while still feeling dainty and reflecting the occasion.  Here's what we came up with!

AND THE WINNER IS....

I have hit 250 Likes on the Hardink Calligraphy Facebook Page which means someone is the winner of a custom self-inking address stamp much like the three awesome ones below...

Including the various shares and additional likes there were 279 total entries.  I used a random number generator to give me a number between 1 and 279 and the number selected was number 225.  Lucky number 225 was Ms. Lara-Anne Stokes!  Congrats Lara!  I'm sure all your stamping wishes are soon to come true.

PRESS :: HER NASHVILLE

I was so happy to see some of my work on Her Nashville's blog last week.  The post, How to Throw a Simple Summer Partyfeatured my calligraphy on the party-perfect invitations.

Here's a couple better views of the invite!

PRESS :: ENCHANTED BRIDES MAGAZINE

I recently teamed up with a handful of other amazingly talented StudioWed vendors on a styled shoot for the summer issue of Enchanted Brides magazine.  The shoot took place on the lawn at The Hermitage, the home of Andrew Jackson, here in Nashville.  The Enchanted Magical Woodlands theme was captured through the use of burlap and lace, vintage furniture, and a slew of wooden accents including a gorgeous wood-burned piece by Brocade Designs.

My work is hiding all throughout the shoot...the menu, place cards, table signage, and drink tags.

 You can pick up the summer issue on newsstands now, or check out the digital issue here.

The LOPES 2

As wedding season continues to tumble through the lazy days of summer, I get more and more requests for envelopes.  I think the fall wedding season will be in full force!  I've been so happy to have the opportunity to work on a few new styles in a couple new colors.  As much as I love a classic (and always gorgeous) traditional black on ecru envelope, it's always exciting to dip my quill into some gold or deep green ink!

Enjoy!
